Meet Hercegovina

As we have already mentioned, Široki Brijeg is full of different cultural events, many of which are held with the shared name -“Brijeg’s Bells”. This cultural project is founded in 1999 and ever since many different folklore evenings, folklore festivals, theater performances, concerts, book presentations and other similar events are regularly held in this small town.

Mediterranean Film Festival is a documentary film festival that takes place every year in early September in Široki Brijeg. The main prize at the festival is Grand Prix, but the Special Jury Prize and the Audience Award are also awarded.

West Herzegowina Fest, which is held every year in summer in Široki Brijeg, is a festival that aims to encourage young artists and creative people to create and to present their work. There are three competition categories – music, film and short story.
